if god is so good, why is there so much evil?

why oh why

have you forsaken me?

why is there so much evil?

why is there so much evil?

(and what is the point of still doing good?)

what’s goin on?

(cue music.) this project begins in the fall of 2025. a well-churched girl in her mid-20s has a crisis and drags her professor into it. they read some books together and spend the weeks talking about how bleak the world is. she looks for hope; she looks for God.

what began as a quest around the political utility of forgiveness has become a full-blown theodicy crisis baby. the well-churched girl wanted to know if Christian forgiveness could heal the world without forsaking justice. she met a world that found new ways to break every morn. the problem of evil, blah blah blah blah blah.

this website is a living archive to all the ways the well-churched girl tried to hope and believe and tried to try and failed. it contains her stories and, too, hopefully, yours.

boo! it’s a mess! it’s all a

great

big

mess.

do you know?

if you have an answer, i’d love to hear it. if you don’t, i’d love to hear that, too.
